Out Of The Orient......started life in 1987 in a very minute way. Judith Brooksbank, its owner - enjoying the then considerable benefits of being an "Airline Wife" - would travel frequently to Hong Kong. After visits round the numerous markets, bags and pockets would be filled with trophies, and distributed among friends on her return. What fun it was!
This habit gained momentum, covering various Eastern delights, until she discovered the beautifully decorated linen - all exquisitely embroidered by hand with perfect workmanship.
At this point, fired with the love of textiles, Out of the Orient was born.
These days a good range of items for the bedroom, including nightwear, are sold up and down the country at all manner of events and shows. As Judith says, We are modern day pedlars - taking our goods to the people wherever they are. (including on our Website)
Now we try to listen to peoples needs, and supply what they cannot find, at affordable prices. Whilst doing so we make donations to charities where possible especially at Christmas time.
